A SAFE SITE
Although every effort will be made to ensure that the site is safe and as hazard-free as possible, it is up to each individual attendee to be responsible for themselves and their safety. You will sign a disclaimer to this effect when registering for your course.
You will be entering an active learning space, often with live construction taking place. This means that not only will there be tools in action around you, but also the people who are using them may be new to using those tools. This calls for you to use your common sense and make us aware if you are unsure or feel unsafe. Move slowly and look after yourselves and each other.
CLOTHING
We ask that or all site based courses, you tie back long hair and remove any jewelry which may get caught or become hazardous whilst using tools.
SPEAKING UP
If you have had any previous issues with lifting heavy items please speak up and do not cause yourself any unnecessary strain. We should be working as a team and no one individual should find themselves lifting or moving anything which could cause them damage.
Likewise, if you are concerned about anything health or safety related on-site, please let an instructor know, or drop us an email at info@ourcommonknowledge.org.
