Where We Are
Common Knowledge is located in the beautiful Burren & Cliffs of Moher Global Geopark, just minutes from the Wild Atlantic Way. We’re nestled close to the towns of Kilfenora, Lisdoonvarna, and Ennistymon. The stunning landscape surrounding us is well worth the trip, so take your time and enjoy the journey.
By Car
From Dublin
Take the Dublin to Galway motorway (M6), followed by the Limerick motorway (M18) towards Galway. Exit at Gort, and enjoy a scenic drive through the Burren, passing Kilnaboy and Kilfenora, before reaching Common Knowledge. This route takes approximately 3 hours.
From Galway
We suggest the scenic route, which adds just a few extra minutes to your trip. Travel via Oranmore to Kinvara, and then follow the road from Ballyvaughan via the famous Corkscrew Hill to Lisdoonvarna. After passing through Lisdoonvarna, turn left towards Kilfenora. About 1km later, turn right at the signpost, then take the next left. The centre is approximately 1km down the road on your right.
From Ennis
From Ennis, take the N85 towards Ennistymon. Turn right onto the R476 heading to Corofin/Kilfenora. At Kilfenora, take the first right towards Lisdoonvarna. After about 4km, turn left at the sign for Common Knowledge, and then take the next right turn. Follow this road for 2km, and you’ll see the centre on your left. This drive takes around 35 minutes.
From Cork
Travel to Ennis via Limerick, and then follow the route from Ennis described above. The journey from Cork takes approximately 2.5 hours.
By Public Transport
The Transport for Ireland website is a great resource for planning your journey. Depending on your starting point, you could take a train to Galway or Ennis (via Limerick). From there, buses run infrequently to nearby towns like Kilfenora and Lisdoonvarna. These towns are a long walk or a short taxi ride away from our centre.
If you arrive in Lisdoonvarna or Kilfenora, contact Mooney’s Taxi on 087 206 9019. Drivers Peter Junior and Peter Senior, along with their wife/mother Winny, will be happy to assist. A taxi from Lisdoonvarna or Kilfenora costs approximately €10 for 1-4 people.
If you’re arriving in Ennis and prefer not to take public transport for the last leg of your journey, Mooney’s Taxi can provide a transfer. This 30-minute journey costs approximately €60.
By Coach
Our site is accessible for coaches. For local coach services, we recommend contacting Peter Mooney Coaches at +353 65 707 4663 or +353 87 206 9019, or via email at petermooneycoaches@eircom.net.
